City of Midland Swim TeamThe City of Midland Swim team is a non-profit organization for swimmers of all levels. The COM Swim Team emphasizes stroke correction and competitive swimming. Swimmers who have not yet acheived this level may be enrolled in either or pre-competitive program or swim lessons. There is a level of participation that is appropriate for ALL swimmers. Team members are expected to attend meets regularly.

Learn To Swim!
COM Aquatics offers Swim America swim lessons. Our Summer
lessons run Monday through Thursday for two weeks, each lesson is 30 minutes
in length, with 8 lessons per session. Lessons are available for pres-school
(3-5 years), grade schoolers 6 and older, and Adults.

Homeschool Swimming Program
COM offers a swimming program for homeschooling students. It is a wonderful time of exercise, learning, fellowship, and FUN!
- Group One: Intermediate Stroke School
In this class the student is introduced to aerobic training skills, plus proper technique for all four competitive swim strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. To try out for this class students must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle with side breathing, backstroke and 20 yards of breastroke kick.
- Group Two: Advanced Stroke School
This class emphasizies strole correction and techniques of competitive swimming with a focus on aerobic training as well. Students must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle (with proper breathing), backstroke and breaststroke. They must also be able to swim 25 yards using the butterfly stroke.
Other ProgramsCOM offers additional fitness opportunities to adults and youth in this community through its own programs and in cooperation with other organizations and agencies in the Midland community. Programs include: sports day camps during summer and school holidays, programs for special-needs children, SCUBA classes, and American Red Cross training in CPR, lifesaving and first aid. Facilities at COM are also made available to other area non-profit agencies and groups for training and recreational activities. |
