Lisa Smith was born and raised in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 Lakes. She began her swimming career in the 4th grade on a club team. She also swam on the Middle School and High School teams. As a swimmer she lettered all six years. Along with being named Team Capitan, Lisa received the MVP Award both her junior and senior year of high school. She also received many various awards ranging from All-Conference to All-State and broke many high school records that still stand today.

Lisa was offered both Academic and Athletic Scholarships to St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. (GO HUSKIES) She was a member of the NCAA Conference Team each year and was a school record holder in the 400 Medley Relay. She also received the honorable award of being named the SCSU Husky Woman of the Year for both her junior and senior year!

Besides being a collegiate athlete, Lisa made sure to also focus on academics and was named to the Dean’s List four times while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication - Advertising and Marketing.

Lisa has currently lived in Midland for a year with her husband, Nick. She is very involved in the community of Midland as a Board Member for Big Brother Big Sisters, a Youth Leader at Mid-Cities Church, a volunteer for March of Dimes and the Girl Scouts.

Lisa has a passion for kids and swimming, so this summer she became the COM SPLASH Swim Coach. And now she gets to enjoy even more time with kids at the COM as the Learn To Swim Program Director.
