Welcome to COM’s Aquatic Wellness program a Friendly environment where you can combine fitness and fun!

Water Walking:

This is recommended for anyone who has difficulty with land based exercise. The warm water offers a comfortable workout with out stress to the joints and the risk of injury associated with walking, jogging, tennis and other land based exercise.

Arthtitis Classes:

The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a recreational group exercise program. The program is conducted in warm water (approximately 91-93 degrees) and is geared to participants with different ability levels. The Basic exercises improve range of motion, muscle strength and endurance. The Plus exercises supplement the Basic exercises with balance and coordination exercises, and more intense endurance-building and muscle-strengthening exercises. The program exercises were designed specifically for people with arthritis, related diseases, and/or musculoskeletal conditions such as joint replacement. Participants are able to improve their joint flexibility and reduce their pain and stiffness while supported by the water's buoyancy and resistance. The classes also provide a friendly, fun atmosphere in which participants can make new friends and try new activities in a safe environment.

Ai Chi (eye-chee):

A water movement and relaxation program that increases oxygen and caloric consumption by combining deep breathing and slow, broad movements.  Ai Chi is successfully used with individuals with pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, COPD, and with neurological and orthopedic diagnosis.

Osteoporosis:

This class is designed to help improve bone density and strengthen the muscles surrounding the spine.

Monthly Fees:         Individual $64.00 Married Couple $99.00

This is an independent program.  However, if at ant time a participant requires additional assistance or supervision, we will require an appropriate caregiver to assist as needed.  We welcome spouses, assistants or aides to help with the member’s participation at COM.
